Genuine Commitment

Hi Coach JJ and Coach Hector,

With Jack being in his last year of high school and the final high school basketball season underway, I've been meaning to drop you both a note just to thank you for running such a great program that has given such great memories and development (character as much as skill) to the boys. Coaches like you are too rare these days. Although Jack won't be reaching the destination he had been working toward since he began with KK Heat in 8th grade, over the past few months we've been trying to emphasize how fortunate he was to have had so many good memories along the way. He has KK/TF to thank for many of them. When Jack first joined your program, it was of course to prepare him for success on his high school team. Year by year, however, KK/TF started to become as much (if not more) his family as his school program. While high school teams and coaches changed from year to year, KK/TF actually came to be his stable base and basketball home.

So thank you for all the time and genuine care you have invested in the boys. I will never forget the fall development session you held a couple years ago for the boys for just $25. Although we didn't have enough players to form a tourney team, you wanted to make sure the boys were ready for the high school season, so you still offered the weekly skill sessions at Washington through fall. We made sure Jack understood and appreciated how rare and special that level of genuine commitment is. He learned a lot from you over these last four years. Basketball skills yes, but also how to conduct himself with character in games and life in general.

Good luck to you both, Take care and thanks for a great ride.

Steve and Jack
